Mike Powell ...41 years of age. I originated in Memphis as a second generation artist, obtaining my first professional tattoo license in 1985. I expanded from Memphis Tattoo Studio to two more shops in Memphis. After the passing of my father in 1991 (Jim Powell) I then realized that the world consisted of more than just Memphis! I then opened shop with "The Colonel" Billy Naylor.We formed "Aces and Eights" and hit the road. I found my self in a whirlwind of tattoo knowledge and I liked it!! Soon after that, I (proudly) was pulled into The "Rosini Family Gypsy Tour" scene ( a tattoo Family beyond any expectations or imagination!) I have been on many tattoo endeavors ..not only working with but obtaining tattoo work as well with many World renowned award winning artists such as R.J Rosini, Lyle Tuttle, Judy Parker, my entire "Gypsy Tour Family", and many more ...Just to name a few. In many endeavors I have acquired ownership and partnership in several tattoo shops ( my Memphis stores...Severe Art Studio in W.I and a current co-owner in "the Rosini Gypsy Tour Tattooing) 10 16 main st. Sturgis SD which I have proudly been on tour with for 16 years..in the process, I have obtained multiple awards and an extent of friends and knowledge that is unexplainable. It has become a way of my life and some what self consuming. Between Tattooing and my 3 and a half year old twin girls,..(Jaden and Coral)..which by the way are the twinkle in my eyes!!!I don't know where I would be today! But for now you can expect to find me at.... Gatlinburg Ink (425 parkway in Gatlinngurg T.N. and I have been there for about 16 yeas now.) excluding a year or two here and there on a couple of crazy journies. 24 years later, I owe it all to one big tattoo family.!! (and my girls!!)
